Scavenger Hunt Sunday--Week 26

This week marks half a year that I have participated in Scavenger Hunt Sunday without missing a week other than the Christmas Season--New Year when SHS was "closed". Do you think it's time for me to quick posting the week number in my post title?

Today's photos all from my archives. At least one of them is taken with an iphone 3S--before I got my Canon. The story for the prompts revolve around my only son. I don't get to see him much since he lives in Kentucky. I try to spend quality time with him whenever possible. The first picture is to introduce him. I would like you to meet my son, John.

This is one of my favorite photos of John. On this day he and I ate lunch at Los Portales in his home town. I asked what he want to do next. He chose to play pool, but was very careful to say we could do something else if I preferred. We had a great time.

1. Bubbles

Nearly every time I see John, he has changed his "look". It isn't often that he has such a short hair cut. This was taken several years ago. I can't remember what he was doing, but it made me think of blowing bubbles.
2. Jump

In this shot we were playing disc golf. It is his favorite outdoor sport. I like to play, but am not good at it. John was giving me lessons. They point he was demonstrating here had something to do with letting your arm carry the disc in front of you, let it sail, and end in a crouch. I believe there was a slight jump involved, but I honestly don't remember the "order of events". Needless to say, I'm not good at it. John, though. plays a great game!

3. Pajamas

Quite a few years ago, John helped Joe and I when we were set up at the North Dakota State fair selling marbles and a few other things. This day business was slow and John fell asleep. As you can see, he isn't wearing pajamas.

4. Blur

The day we played pool was just a week or so after I got my Canon. We took turns experimenting with it. The blur in the background of this photo is me. As with disc golf, John is skilled--I am not, but I still like to play.

5. Chalk

He has taught me it is important to put chalk on the end of the pool stick often so it won't slip away from the cue ball and ruin the shot. John is the shooter in this photo. See how holds the stick? I can't control it like he does, nor can I put such a great spin on the pool balls.

John and I had a great time together. I hope we can do it again soon!

Thank you for joining me this week for Scavenger Hunt Sunday. I hope you enjoyed meeting my son. He is a great guy.

  1. John looks like a great son. I've never quite the hang of a good disk golf throw either.

  4. I have never played disk golf. I had to do a double take on the first two shots to see if that was the same person!

  5. I know, right? He and daughter's husband both could be considered masters of disguise. I only see them every couple of months. Sometimes I don't recognize them. Terrible confession to make!
