Scavenger Hunt Sunday 7-13-14

This weekend we took a road trip to Kentucky. Usually we cross the bridges over the Mississippi River when it's dark, so I never get any good pictures of the area. This time we crossed during the day and I was able to get some good photos. I am using a few of them for this weeks Scavenger Hunt.

1. Sunglasses

We were stopped for the night when I remembered it was time to post SHS pictures. I downloaded the pictures I had taken during the day, hoping to find some I could use. I squealed when I saw this one. I had forgotten about it. It fit the prompt as if I had planned it!

2. Summer

This was taken from just above the Mississippi River.  I grabbed this picture while photographing the barges. I was hoping the couple didn't notice. When I enlarged the picture, however, I saw that the dude was looking right at me. Oh, well, hopefully he wasn't upset with me.

3. Outside

This is one of my favorite bridges. Joe stopped so I could stand outside the car for this photo.

4. Green

Everything in this shot seemed to be some shade of green. There was quite a bit of green in most of the photos I took today.

5. Healing

This is one of my grandson's favorite shirts. It seems to fit the healing prompt in a round about way.

I hope you enjoyed my post for this week's Scavenger Hunt Sunday. If you did, I would love for you to leave a comment.

Thanks for stopping by.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday 6-22-14

Scavenger Hunt Sunday has been a challenge for me this summer. I'm not complaining, though. I cherish the time I get to spend with my grandchildren. They are growing up so fast. My time with them is limited. I used my phone camera for most of today's photos.

1. Unplugged

Yesterday we set up at the indoor flea market. The boys were easily entertained with electronic devices. The nook holds a charge well, so it was unplugged. The cell phone is no longer usable for calling, but still connects to the internet for games and everything else, but it doesn't work unless it is plugged in.

2. Unassuming

This word was hard to attach to a photo. By the time I looked it up in the dictionary, I was tired of the game. I saw this picture my grandson took of me and decided to use it. I'm not saying it fits me exactly, but it is my goal to be unassuming. The word unassuming means modest, lacking in arrogance, pleasant, or polite.

3. Unleashed

Dairy ants use aphids to farm for food. They drive them in herds back to their homes and milk them. When these bugs are unleashed in gardens, they can be quite destructive. This is the first time I have seen them in such big numbers. I don't want them in my yard, but I was happy to get this photo of them at work in the woods!

4. Unapproachable

This display made me laugh, so I snapped a shot of it. I didn't realized at the time that it fit this prompt. If you go too long without deodorant, you will become unapproachable!

5. Unaware

This photo was not easy to get. Every time this little one saw me with the camera, he would stop what he was doing and shoot me a huge smile. I had to catch him unaware to get a photo of him playing. I did get several good smiling pictures in the process.

This one was unapproachable on the boulder--about 12 feet from the ground. It looks as though he was unaware of the camera. He has a book in his hand most of the time when he's not on the nook.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the prompts for this week. If you would like to participate in Scavenger Hunt Sunday, just click on the link below for instructions.
