Scavenger Hunt Sunday - Week 9

It's time again for Scavenger Hunt Sunday. Some of my pictures were from the Old Time Christmas Celebration at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. I haven't been yet this year, so these are from last year.

1. Lights

The Christmas lights are pretty, but not as pretty as my granddaughter.

2. Tree

We had another ice storm last night. The trunk of this huge tree is close to 4 feet in diameter and is less than six feet from our kitchen window. It towers way above the house. All day it dropped chunks of ice on the house just above the kitchen. It was really spooky to be in there during that. If one of those long heavy branches fell on the house it would be the end of anyone in its wake.

We planted both of these evergreen trees 4 years ago. The biggest one in this picture died, or so it seemed, several years ago. The smaller one kept growing nicely. All of a sudden, the 'dead' tree began growing again and out-grew the other one. It was a nice tree, standing 6 or 7 feet tall until the ice came Friday night. It is now bowing under its heavy load. Hopefully it will weather this storm!

3. Big

Looks like the big bad wolf is wearing grandmas clothes again. He might could get away with it if he he would ditch that hat.

4. Makes me Merry

I love that Silver Dollar City still celebrates the true meaning of Christmas.

5. On the Door

This may actually be windows rather than a door but I love it!

  1. Great Christmas season photo set. Love the lights image. I honestly don't believe we've ever been to Silver Dollar City during the Christmas season...and it's only a couple of hours from our house.

  3. amazing holiday photos. Yep, your granddaughter is adorable. That gingerbread is pretty funny. Are they stored someplace off season?

  4. I know Silver Dollar City changes their theme 5 or 6 times a year. I'm not sure what all they bring back the next 'matching' season. The Old Time Christmas Show will be on through Dec 30th, at which time they will close for several months. I believe SDC will reopen sometime in March.
